Kieron Pollard is one of the finest hitters of the cricket ball. His ability to hit best of the bowlers out of the park in crunch situations has made him a genuine match-winner in white-ball cricket and it was again on show in the 12th match of CPL. 

The game between Trinbago Knight Riders and Saint Lucia Kings was at a critical stage with the former needing 27 off 12 balls. Kieron Pollard was the only hope for TKR and the skipper delivered against Matthew Forde. The first ball was a dot but the second delivery was heaved away over deep backward square leg. 

The next delivery was again a dot but it was followed by three consecutive sixes and they were all trademark Pollard sixes down the ground, which killed the chase and TKR eventually got home in the final over.

The hitting by Kieron Pollard was nothing new for the fans who have followed him over the years, but the man is at the fag end of his career and to be still able to produce such clean hitting in pressure situations speaks a lot about his quality. Pollard eventually stayed unbeaten on 52 off just 19 balls, and the knock took his team to their second victory in the season in three matches so far.

Talking about the game, St. Lucia Kings batted first and posted a healthy total of 187 on the board courtesy a fifty by Roston Chase. In reply, TKR were off to a flying start and young Parris hit a quickfire 20-ball fifty. Kings though fought back and got timely breakthroughs to keep themselves in the game. However, Pollard smacked four sixes in the 19th over and sealed the deal for his side.
