In the 12th match of the CPL 2024, West Indian star Alzarri Joseph was seen engaging in a heated conversation with the umpire over a decision. Joseph, playing for the Kings, was not happy with a wide call that the umpire made during the second innings of the game.

Kings reached a fighting total because of Rajapaksa and Chase

Earlier in the game, the Knight Riders won the toss and put the St Kings to bat. The Kings made a decent start to the innings as openers Faf du Plessis and Johnson Charles looked in good touch. However, they lost three quick wickets in a span of four overs and gave away the momentum they had early in the innings.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Roston Chase got together, and with a partnership of 80 runs from 58 balls, they brought the Kings back into the game. Chase remained unbeaten until the end of the innings and helped the Kings surpass the 180 mark.

Knight Riders got off to a blazing start despite losing Narine early

In reply, the Knights lost Sunil Narine early but made a blazing start, courtesy of Jason Roy and Shaqkere Parris. The duo were thrashing the bowlers of St. Lucia to all parts of the ground, and Alzarri Joseph was also not spared.

The West Indian speedster was slammed for 15 runs in the fourth over of the innings. Out of these runs, five came off a wide on the fourth delivery of the over. As Parris unleashed his beast mode, Joseph tested him with a bouncer. Unfortunately, the bowler failed to control the bouncer, and it went over the batter's head and evaded the keeper to run away to the fence for four wides.

Joseph seemed unhappy with the umpire's decision

Joseph seemed very disappointed with the decision. During his return to the bowling mark, he was seen questioning the umpire animatedly about the decision. He expressed his frustration even after the completion of the over.

Parris and Roy scored 70 runs off the first five overs and set the Knight Riders on the correct path in chasing down the target.
