In the ongoing first Test between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth, India's star batter Virat Kohli has brought up his 30th Test century. Virat silenced his critics as he ended his slump with the bat in Test cricket in style. 

Virat walked to bat when India were 275/2. Kohli showed resilience and learnt from the mistake he made in the first innings. Kohli ended his century drought as his last Test ton came in July 2023 against West Indies. Kohli's knock has featured eight fours and two sixes. Virat brought up his century in 143 deliveries. 

Virat brought up his century in style and whacked Marnus Labuschagne for a four. Prior to this match, Virat was having a disastrous year with the bat in Test cricket and was under the scanner for his slump with the bat. Notably, this century is his highest individual score in red-ball cricket in 2024. He also equalled Steve Waugh and Shivnarine Chanderpaul's feat of 30 centuries. 

Virat Kohli's Reaction Steals The Show

It was an emotional moment for Virat as he went through a lot of criticism before this match. However, he didn't realise that he reached his century and that reaction of his also went viral.

Talking about the match, India are in a commanding position as they have declared their innings right after Virat's century. Notably, India have put 487 runs on the board and have set a target of  534 runs. Further, Nitish Reddy and Virat have shifted gears and looking to put score on the board quickly as they are thinking of declaring the innings soon.
