Virat Kohli is one of the finest batters in the modern era and after a slow start to his Test career, he came up with some stunning performances in the purest format of the game. However, he has encountered a dip of form since 2019, and the centuries have dried up, especially in Test cricket.
He has now 29 centuries in Test cricket which is the same number of centuries that Don Bradman got in his career. That special century for Virat Kohli came in Port of Spain against West Indies in the second Test of the series in July 2023. He scored 121 in that game, and was unfortunately run out.
The century came in the first innings when India managed to post a strong total of 438 on the board. Kohli was the only centurion, but the likes of Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin scored fifties. Indian bowlers then bowled out West Indies for just 255 and in the second innings, India played positively and declared for 181 after 24 overs.
