After 13 matches, Rishabh Pant finally arrived at the party scene as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper smashed his second fifty of the tournament to torment the RCB bowlers who are aiming for a top 2 finish. The 27 crore buy looked threatening and the opponent had no answer to his onslaught.
Pant finally comes to life with quick-fire fifty
This was a brilliant 29-ball fifty which has put a dent on RCB's chances of finishing in the top 2 of the points table. Pant sprung a surprise when he walked out to bat at number 3 after the dismissal of Matthew Breetzke. However, the move paid off well as the maverick batter wengt bonkers right from ball one and tore apart the RCB bowlers with utmost ease.
His knock included 6 fours and 3 sixes as RCB bowlers looked clueless and failed to dismiss the LSG captain cheaply. The batter played his trademark shots throughout the innings as the Bengaluru side failed to contain him.
27 crore price tag burdened Pant
It is clear that the price tag of 27 crore put a lot of pressure on Pant as the batter only had two fifties this season. One came up against CSK in a losing cause and this one against RCB.
Prior to this match, Pant had scored a mere 151 runs in 13 matches with a strike rate just crossing the 100 mark. However, the swashbuckling batter will finish on a high after a brilliant innings against a helpless RCB attack.
