Indian cricketing icon and batting stalwart Virat Kohli became the first Indian cricketer to breach 2000-run mark while chasing in T20Is during India's successful run-chase against Afghanistan in the second game in Indore. 

India sealed the three-game T20I series versus Afghanistan by demolishing the visitors at Indore on Sunday. In reply to a target of 173 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube unleashed carnage to secure a handsome victory with four overs to spare.

However, amid the fireworks, Virat Kohli announced in return in style by playing the anchor's role in the middle just after Rohit Sharma got dismissed for a golden duck. He scored 29 runs off 16 deliveries to set up a new record for himself.
