Shivam Dube reinforced the impact and influence MS Dhoni and his mighty successful Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in IPL have had on his cricketing journey as he shined with another all-round display in the ongoing T20I series versus Afghanistan.

After a terrific performance in both skills in the first match in Mohali, Dube came up with another brilliant overall contribution to India's success in the second T20I in Indore on Sunday (January 14), delivering a spell of 1/36 and playing a blistering knock of 63 not out off 32 balls.

Having finally gotten the role of a middle-order assaulter as he has been for the Super Kings under Dhoni's well-renowned leadership, Dube gave credit for his success on India T20I comeback to the IPL experience with one of the two greatest franchises of the annual T20 carnival.

Dube Credits Dhoni And CSK For T20I Comeback

Speaking to Sports18 after finishing off the match unbeaten again at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Dube said he had taken inspiration from Dhoni on how to end the proceedings for his team.

"I've watched Mahi Bhai finish the games for India over the years. I'm just following that path. My success credit goes to MS Dhoni and CSK," Dube said at the post-match interaction."

"Mahi bhai gave me confidence that I can do it, CSK management told me they believed in me and always had the faith that I could perform," he added.

Dube, whose comeback to India's T20I side could only be possible due to the injury-forced absence of premier allrounder Hardik Pandya, has done his case of long-term selection no harm throughout the series.

If Pandya's injury issues persist, the Mumbaikar could be a shoo-in for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June in the Caribbean & USA.
