Pakistan Players Involved In Heated Argument After Humiliating Loss To NZ

Latest rumors coming from Pakistan's local media suggest a growing rift between Pakistani players and team management in the aftermath of the second consecutive loss against New Zealand in the ongoing five-game bilateral series.

All is not well in the Pakistan dressing room, as players and team management are apparently not on the same page. The men in green lost the second T20I of the five-game series earlier today by 21 runs as the mammoth target of 195 proved to be simply too good for the visitors.

However, newly minted captain Shaheen Afridi pinned the blame on the bowlers for giving the game away in the first innings. Interestingly, Shaheen had won the toss, and despite coming off a loss whilst chasing in the first game, the skipper surprisingly elected to bowl first again.

Needless to say, the dubious game plan backfired as Pakistan ended up conceding 194 runs in the first innings.

That being said, following the loss, local media back in Pakistan are reporting that an intense showdown between the players and PAK team management broke out in the dressing room. Apparently, the management is not taking the back-to-back losses very gently and wants a change in approach in overall intent.

Meanwhile, this isn't the first time rumors of an internal rift have swirled around on the internet. Just a couple of days ago, a Pakistani reporter from ground zero reported that Shaheen Afridi and ex-captain Babar Azam were not on talking terms. The new captain is not seeking any advice or help from the ex-skipper.

Even during the ODI World Cup held in India, rumors of a tense verbal war between Babar Azam and Afridi shook the Pakistani fans.

Perhaps the smoke is coming from a fire, and it is highly likely that things are not well in Pakistan cricket. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, it's important for the men in green to regroup and perform as a unit to ensure a successful campaign.
