After an injury break from cricket, Shadab Khan returned to the Pakistan T20I squad for the Sri Lanka tour and even before the national return, Shadab has been working wonders in the ongoing Big Bash League with his spells.

The 27-year-old leg-break all-rounder spun a magic delivery during the Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Thunder clash on December 30 to dismiss Laurie Evans. What was more eye-catching was the convincing power that helped Shadab overturn the umpire’s decision with a DRS review.

How Shadab Khan influenced David Warner for a DRS

In the fourth ball of the 14th over, while bowling to the Scorchers, Shadab Khan was lethal against batter Laurie Evans. Khan bowled a leg-break on the shorter side of the leg as Evans attempted a clumsy sweep shot.

After Evans missed the hit, the ball hit the box, which looked almost like it missed the stumps because of the height it might have gained as per the projection.

Shadab Khan was super loud with the appeal, but the umpire was unmoved and not interested. Without wasting any time, Khan looked straight into the eyes of the skipper, David Warner.

Warner sways under Shadab Khan's influence

Warner, who was fielding in the cover, was unclear about the dismissal, but Shadab Khan had a stern voice with a confident appeal that even moved the skipper.

With a smile, David Warner went for the T and the DRS review came in favour of the Sydney Thunder. As Khan bowled the beauty, Evans was completely left awestruck, and he walked back for 10 (7).

The Pakistan star was outright correct with his appeal from the beginning and was disappointed as the umpire didn’t respond to him. His strong opinion and confidence in his delivery led David Warner to go for the DRS as Thunders bagged one because of the Pakistan spin wizard.

As of the match, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Perth Scorchers managed to bag 202 runs at the end of 20 overs courtesy of Ashton Turner’s 99 off 41.
