The Bangladesh Cricket Board has been much more lenient in granting No Objection Certificates to their players for playing franchise leagues outside their countries and Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has appreciated the move.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have granted NOC to Taskin Ahmed for the UAE-based ILT20 league, where he is currently representing the Sharjah Warriors. BCB also granted NOC to ace pacer Mustafizur Rahman for IPL 2026, though his participation remains in muddy waters.
Spinner Rishad Hossain has also been granted an NOC to feature in the Big Bash League, where he is representing the Hobart Hurricanes. Hence, BCB has been much more lenient since 2017, when NOC policies squeezed opportunities for the players.
Taskin Ahmed elaborates on ILT20 experience after NOC
Taksin Ahmed, speaking on this mega opportunity to play in the ILT20, praised the board’s openness for players to global opportunities like this.
"Getting the NOC feels really good. The more you play, the more you learn, especially when you share the dressing room with players from different cultures. Every team has a different coaching staff and a unique environment, and everyone brings their own experiences. All of that helps you grow and improve as a cricketer," Ahmed said as quoted by Cricbuzz.
Taskin Ahmed further elaborated on how playing in leagues outside Bangladesh helps the players evolve with their skills and mindset.
“In big leagues like the ILT20, every team has a strong batting line-up, with one quality batter coming after another, making life tough for bowlers. However, that challenge helps build confidence, and even a five percent improvement from such experiences can make a difference for the national team."
"Exposure to different cultures and coaching styles helps players understand new ways to prepare, recover, train, and think about the game. Playing abroad also brings constant pressure, as a foreign player can be dropped after one or two poor games," Ahmed added.

In ILT20, Ahmed comes off a solid performance with the ball, where he gathered 9 wickets from 6 matches while having the best figures of 3-40 in the tournament.
