In an entertaining last-over thriller game, RCB beat MI at Wankhede Stadium to take home a 12-run marginal win. With that, Bengaluru has become only the second team to beat Mumbai, KKR and CSK at their respective home grounds in a single season.

RCB, still in search of their first IPL title, are on an absolute roll this season. They got their third win of the season against MI on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, Bengaluru put 221 runs on the board.

While Mumbai came close, thanks to Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma’s blazing knocks, they fell short of 12 runs to lose a last-over thriller game.

RCB Humble KKR, CSK And MI In A Single Season

RCB beat MI at the latter’s home turf in Wankhede in a high-scoring game. However, this is not the first time, Bengaluru have breached another team’s fortress.

In the ongoing season, the Challengers earlier beat CSK by 50 runs at Chepauk Stadium before humbling KKR at Eden Gardens to grab a 7-wicket win.

With that hattrick of away wins, RCB have become the only second team to beat MI, KKR and CSK in their respective home grounds in a single season. Previously, PBKS achieved the same feat in 2012.

In a tournament known for home-ground dominance, especially by powerhouses like CSK, MI, and KKR, pulling off wins in each of their fortresses in a single season speaks volumes about RCB’s renewed mindset and team balance in 2025.

RCB Consolidate 3rd Place In Points Table

The RCB vs MI game at Wankhede Stadium was an absolute run fest. Bengaluru batted first with Virat Kohli (67) and Rajat Patidar (64) guiding the team to a match-winning total of 221 runs.

While MI’s top order failed to get a good start, captain Hardik Pandya turned the game around with some fine hitting. He slammed 42 off just 15 balls but couldn’t finish the game as RCB won by 12 runs. With that win, Bengaluru is placed third on the points table with 6 points in 4 games and a positive net run rate of +1.015.
