On Monday, April 7, Mumbai Indians locked horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium. The hosts won the toss and opted to field as the ongoing match marked the return of Jasprit Bumrah for the first time since his back injury in January 2025.

It was a perfect set-up for the fans as Jasprit Bumrah, in his first over, went against Virat Kohli. The spectators were on their toes to see two Indian stalwarts go against each other. However, Virat won the battle in Bumrah's first over.

Virat Kohli Takes On Bumrah On His Return

On the 2nd ball of the innings and the first ball that Virat faced Bumrah, he whacked the MI seamer for a maximum. The crowd went into a frenzy as Virat was unfazed by the tough challenge and rather welcomed Bumrah back into competitive cricket with a six. Watch the shot here.

Bumrah too returned back strongly as he then tested Kohli with a yorker that the former RCB skipper defended nicely. However, Bumrah was taken off the attack after just one over.
