The IPL 2025 season is set to host a big rivalry between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 7 at Wankhede Stadium. The spotlight, however, is not just on the game, but also on the heartwarming words shared by RCB star Virat Kohli about his long-time teammate and India captain Rohit Sharma.

The two greats have had their stints as team leaders of Team India and been the pillars behind many classic triumphs, among them the 2025 Champions Trophy and historic 2024 T20 World Cup.

Before the mega MI-RCB encounter, Kohli has spoken about his relationship with Rohit and how it became stronger with each passing year.

Virat Kohli Reflects On Special Bond With Rohit Sharma

In a video shared on RCB’s official X account, Virat Kohli opened up about his enduring relationship with Rohit, describing it as one built on mutual respect, understanding, and most importantly, trust.

“I think it’s a very natural thing to take place when you play with someone for so long and you share so much of your insight of the game. So there’s a lot of back and forth that happens and also the fact that we worked very closely in terms of the leadership for the team," Virat said.

Virat Kohli mentioned that their relationship developed over the years, and both players learned from one another, shared strategies, and most times agreed on their instincts in crucial situations. He also admitted the trust they had in each other throughout their careers.

“There’s a trust factor that builds in terms of you can rely on each other to do the job for the team. We have enjoyed our time playing together for so long for India. The journey was so long and consistently (going on). So, very, very, very grateful and very happy for all the memories, all the moments that we’ve shared and continue to do so," he added.

Jasprit Bumrah To Return For MI

Mumbai Indians have been given a huge boost in the run-up to their high-pressure IPL 2025 encounter against RCB, as key pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been officially ruled fit to play. MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene revealed the news during a press meet, stating that Bumrah returned to the team on Saturday and will resume action on April 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.
