The much-awaited match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru is underway at the Wankhede Stadium. It is a clash of the Titans as fans have turned up in thousands to see the two teams go against each other.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to field first as Jasprit Bumrah returns to the side after a long delay. However, a major controversy occurred during the toss as the fans accused MI skipper Hardik Pandya of cheating.
Notably, during the toss, Ravi Shastri asked Hardik Pandya to flip the coin. However, in a bizarre incident, Hardik flipped the coin behind his back, and it landed on the grass. The match referee had to walk a few steps and then pointed at Hardik, saying that the MI skipper won the toss.
The incident didn't go well with RCB fans as they started a trent on social media accusing of MI of cheating even before the start of the much-awaited clash.
Did The Match Referee Get It Wrong At The Toss?
While there were rumours of cheating and possible rigging, the IPL released a video, where they posted a close-up video of the toss and it clearly showed Head. Notably, Patidar called for tails and the coin showed a head in the video.
