Mustafizur Rahman, one of the finest bowlers for Bangladesh in recent times and who has been their only consistent participant in IPL over the years, has injured himself badly in the 3rd ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He was carried out of ground in stretcher bringing up the possibility of a severe injury that might rule him out of IPL 2024.

The left-arm pacer was bought by CSK at his base price of 2 Crore and is supposed to be one of the key assets for CSK with Matheesha Pathirana’s fitness also in doubt. The Fizz as Mustafizur Rahman is fondly known injured his left calf muscle while bowling in the 3rd ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and was eventually carried out on stretcher.

The Fizz bowled nine overs in the 3rd ODI and was bowling quite well as he gave away just 39 runs and picked two wickets as well. However, when he came out to bowl his last over, he struggled in pain and bowled a wayward delivery first up. He tried to bowl another delivery, but pulled up at the last moment and seemed to have hurt himself quite badly.

The severity of his injury is still not clear but all CSK and Bangladesh fans would be hoping that it is not serious and he gets fit before the IPL carnival starts off with a CSK-RCB encounter at Chepauk on March 22.
