[Watch] RCB Lose First Wicket As Sophie Devine Falls After Brisk Start In WPL Final

The WPL 2024 Final between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore was expected to be a close affair, but DC crumbled in the first half and were bowled out for just 113. In reply, Sophie Devine and Smriti Mandhana started off well, and Devine especially was looking in fine touch before Shikha Pandey provided a much-needed breakthrough for DC.

It was the third over for Pandey and the 9th of RCB's innings and Devine was looking quite settled. Shikha bowled the first delivery of the over on a good length and angled it on middle and leg. The right-handed batter tried to work it towards the leg side but missed the ball completely as it went onto hit her pads.

A big appeal followed from the bowler and the umpire decided to raise the finger. Devine did take the DRS in a hope of a miracle but it was dead straight and the Ball Tracking showed three reds. It gave a much-needed relief to DC but they need lot more if they want to press that panic button in RCB camp which looks highly unlikely now.

Earlier, RCB spinners wreaked havoc as DC lost their way from 64-0 after a blistering start from Shafali Verma.
