Sameer Rizvi was part of the Delhi Capitals squad in IPL 2025, and though he did not do well early in the tournament, the batter displayed his class with an unbeaten 58 under pressure in the final match of the season.

He is now leading Kanpur Superstars in the Uttar Pradesh T20 league 2025 and is showing great form after some mediocre scores early in the tournament. The batter blasted 93 off just 49 balls against Gorakhpur Lions in the last match, and now against Meerut, he has played another fantastic, unbeaten knock of 78 from 48 balls.
However, in both games, he has not received support from the rest of the batsmen, and it is not helping Kanpur Superstars. In this match against Meerut, Sameer Rizvi's team could score only 149 runs, and the captain scored more than 50 per cent of those.
He walked out to bat at number 3 after a decent start from the openers. However, he kept losing partners, and the second-best score of the innings was 23 by Faiz Ahmed. Rizvi, though, did not crumble under pressure and batted cautiously at the start of his innings.

He was equally good against spin and pace and displayed great maturity in choosing his shots. Against spinners, the batter hit 33 runs off 19 balls, while he scored 45 runs off 29 balls against pacers, and overall hit five sixes and seven fours in his knock.
Rizvi is just 21 years old, and these quality performances under pressure in the UP T20 league are likely to help him rise through the ranks of Indian cricket swiftly. It would also give more confidence to the Delhi Capitals, and he might be one of the retained players for IPL 2026.
