Virender Sehwag's son Aaryavir is currently part of the Central Delhi Kings in the Delhi Premier League 2025. He was bought for 8 Lakhs and is known for his power-hitting, just like his father.

However, he is yet to get a chance in the league and would be looking to cash in whenever he gets his opportunity. He is keeping himself active off the field, though, and in a recent interaction with InsideSport, the 17-year-old opened up on his favourite Indian cricketer.

In a this-or-that game, Aaryavir Sehwag was first given an option of choosing between Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. The young cricketer chose Gill and then kept going with the Indian Test captain against the likes of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya.

Virender Sehwag's Son Exhibits Love For Shubman Gill

The big surprise came when the youngster preferred Shubman Gill over the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni. It is a big surprise because Dhoni has been a stalwart of Indian cricket, while Shubman Gill has just started his career. Aaryavir Sehwag then went with Gill over Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson, two other talented cricketers.

However, another surprise came when he went with Shubman Gill over Rohit Sharma. The Hitman is one of the finest batters of the modern era in white-ball cricket and has been a source of inspiration for many, including Shubman Gill.

Aaryavir Sehwag Chooses Virat Kohli Over Sachin Tendulkar

Aaryavir Sehwag eventually decided to let go of Shubman Gill when Virat Kohli's name arrived on the scene. The final choice was between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. The young cricketer answered that his dad's favourite is Sachin Tendulkar. However, he added that he would go with Virat Kohli as he is the greatest batter of his generation.

Thus, Virender Sehwag's son has surely made some interesting choices, and it shows how popular Shubman Gill is among the new generation of cricketers.
