Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been in stellar form on the India U19 tour of England. He has scored runs in each of the initial four matches and has finally encountered a rare failure in the last match of the ODI series.

The 14-year-old scored 33 from 42 balls, and it was quite an uncharacteristic knock from the talented batter. Interestingly, in the last match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 143 runs in just 78 balls, which included 10 sixes, and it was expected that he would continue his rich vein of form in this match too.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Curbs His Natural Instinct After Early Wickets

However, after electing to bat first, India lost their out-of-form captain Ayush Mhatre in just the second over and soon Vihaan Malhotra also returned back to the hut. It forced Vaibhav Suryavanshi to play risk-free cricket and thus he took his time to get going.

However, just when it looked like he was set now and the partnership was brewing up, Vaibhav lost his wicket off the bowling of Sebastian Morgan at a score of 33. He faced 42 balls and hit three fours and two sixes in his knock. His wicket put India U19 in a spot of bother as they were reduced to 60 for three and would now need middle-order batters to step up.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Takes Big Steps In England

Nevertheless, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has done enough to increase his stature in world cricket in this five-match series. He scored 355 runs in five innings at a stunning strike-rate of 174.02 and at an average of 71.

In every game, he gave India fast starts, which helped other batters to settle down, and it has resulted in India sealing the series in the fourth match itself. Vaibhav would now be hoping to prove his talent in red-ball cricket and take another big step in his cricket career.
