India’s U19 captain Ayush Mhatre is making headlines in England again. The 18-year-old sensation hammered a breathtaking 100* off just 64 balls in the second innings of the second Youth Test against England U19, showing maturity, confidence, and incredible skill beyond his age.

In a 355-run chase, Mhatre saw his opening partner, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, get bowled by Alex Green on the first ball of the fourth inning. However, instead of getting nervous, the skipper led from the front to stitch a 100-run partnership with Vihaan Malhotra.

Ayush Mhatre Extends Dream Run With Another Hundred In England

In just 64 balls, Ayush Mhatre unlocked the three-digit figure to record his second century in England. His innings included 12 fours and 5 sixes, and his strike rate was unusually high for a red-ball game.

What makes this even more special is that this is his second century of the tour. In the first Test match, Mhatre had already announced his arrival with a century in the first innings.

He followed that with a solid 80 in the first innings of the second match before unleashing his full firepower in the second dig, a knock that left everyone stunned.

The second hundred was also important, as it came during a high-pressure chase with his trusted opener Suryavanshi already walking back on a golden duck.

However, the job is not yet done for Ayush Mhatre. He still has to bat deep and ensure his team remains in a winning position. With 4 sessions and 8 wickets still in hand, a victory is very much likely for India from this second Youth Test.

Moreover, since the first Test was drawn, a positive result will also end up in a series win for India U19.
