[Watch] Shah Rukh Khan Dazzles In WPL 2024 Opening Ceremony

The 2024 edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) launched on February 23 with a match between defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals. However, prior to the match, fans at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru were graced with a high-octane opening ceremony performance from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The Bollywood actor, who himself co-owns the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise in IPL, was among the many entertainers present at the iconic venue to celebrate the commencement of the second chapter of WPL.

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan showcased his aura during the WPL 2024 opening ceremony by pulling off several iconic musical numbers. Much to the delight of the crowd, he also narrated some of his iconic quotes from his movies.

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, other Bollywood personalities who attended the WPL 2024 event included fellow actors Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan.

On the cricketing front, Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and opted to field first. The match marks the opening fixture of the WPL 2024 event, which will run through March 17 next month.

The tournament will be played out in two separate phases. The first half of the competition will be staged in Bengaluru, before the action shifts to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi for the backend fixtures, including the all-important playoffs.
