'Credit To RCB's Scouting System' - Dinesh Karthik Lauds Akash Deep's Striking Debut

Veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik recently appreciated the young Indian pacer Akash Deep for his dreamy debut against England in the fourth Test match of England’s tour of India.

Akash Deep gave the Indian team a phenomenal kickstart on the first day of the fourth Test as he took three quick wickets before lunch.

Akash Deep broke the opening 47-run partnership as he dismissed both the opening batters Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett at a score of 42 and 11, respectively. Deep swiftly dismissed Duckett and the new batter on the field, Ollie Pope for a duck in the 10th over.


Dinesh Karthik credits RCB for Akash Deep’s success

Dinesh Karthik believes that the Indian Premier league team franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore has to be credited for finding a young talent like Akash Deep. Akash has been one of the key squad members for the RCB team franchise for 2-3 years and the team management has worked hard on polishing him. 

“Credit to the RCB scouting system, they found Akash Deep two-three years ago. They are working hard on him,” Kartik said.

Akash Deep received his maiden Test cap from the legendary Test cricketer Rahul Dravid as he was preferred over Mukesh Kumar. Deep replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the Playing XI, who was rested to manage his workload.

The Bengal pacer completely justified his selection in the fourth Test match against England as he took three quick wickets to give India a dominating start in the Ranchi Test.

Akash Deep replaced Washington Sundar for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2023 and was later picked in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Akash has taken six wickets in the seven innings he has played for the team.
