Afghanistan made history in the T20 World Cup 2024 by reaching their first-ever semi-final after the win over Bangladesh by 8 runs in a thrilling match on Tuesday, June 25. 

It was a memorable day for Afghanistan and their cricket fans as they achieved something special that very few predicted at the start of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Following their victory, videos spread across social media capturing thousands of Afghan fans celebrating in various parts of the country. 

Meanwhile, the players, who had dedicated themselves since the tournament's outset, erupted in jubilation and celebrated wildly in the dressing room after their monumental win.

Following their victory, Afghanistan secured their first-ever spot in the T20 World Cup semi-finals and reached the knockout stage of a major ICC event for the first time in their cricketing history. The achievement was underpinned by a stellar performance from their bowlers, who successfully defended a modest total of 115 runs against Bangladesh.

Despite being considered underdogs at the start of the tournament in the US and the Caribbean, Afghanistan exceeded expectations by advancing to the semi-finals, causing several upsets along the way.

Next, they are set to face the formidable South Africa in the first semi-final on Thursday, June 27. Rashid Khan and his team have an opportunity to make history by reaching their inaugural T20 World Cup final. 

However, they face a tough challenge against South Africa, who remain unbeaten in the tournament and have shown exceptional form en route to the semi-finals.
