After smacking bowlers all over the park in IPL 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma swapped the cricket field for the comedy couch. The 24-year-old sensation was seen grinning ear to ear on The Kapil Sharma Show, sharing the frame with none other than Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir, spin wizard Yuzvendra Chahal and the ever-entertaining Rishabh Pant.

Abhishek Sharma Has Fans in Splits After Hilarious Paparazzi Moment

In fact, the original king of one-liners, Navjot Singh Sidhu was back in the mix too. The episode, expected to hit Netflix soon, promises laughs, banter and a bit of behind-the-scenes T20 fun that fans just can’t get enough of.

In a now-viral clip doing the rounds on Instagram, Abhishek was caught playfully interacting with the paparazzi:

“Aake lo na, abhi mera makeup kharab ho jayega,” said Abhishek as paps requested him for photos.

The young gun was more worried about his makeup getting smudged and fans couldn’t get enough of this softer side of the usually explosive left-hander.

Abhishek Sharma’s Red-Hot T20 Form

Abhishek been setting the T20 stage on fire. In IPL 2025, he smashed 439 runs in just 13 innings at a stunning strike rate of 193.99. That includes a breathtaking 141 off just 55 balls against Punjab Kings, an innings that had fans, pundits and even opposition captains scratching their heads.

He is no flash in the pan either. Back in 2022, he racked up 484 runs and has only grown since then. It is no wonder SRH held onto him for a whopping INR14 crore ahead of the mega auction.

Notably, Abhishek has taken to international cricket like a fish to water. The left-hander already has two T20 centuries and a couple of fifties to his name in just 16 innings. His most recent outing was a whirlwind 135 against England earlier this year in February. That knock turned heads. If there were any doubters left, that innings sent them packing.

He is sitting pretty with 535 international T20 runs already and with the 2026 T20 World Cup on the horizon, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Team India’s Next T20 Assignments

Team India’s next T20 gig is a three-match series in Bangladesh this August, followed by assignments against Australia and South Africa. It’s the perfect build-up to the big dance next year and you can bet Abhishek Sharma will be raring to go.
