Abhishek Sharma is considered as one of the most talented young batters in Indian cricket, and in the game against Punjab Kings, he showed exactly why he is rated so highly. The batter smashed the highest-ever total by an Indian batter in the history of the tournament as he blasted 141 from just 55 balls. 

His unbelievable knock helped SRH chase down their highest-ever total in the history of the tournament. They knocked down a massive target of 246 in just 18.3 overs and it is the chase that would be remembered for the ages. Abhishek Sharma hit 14 fours and 10 sixes in his knock, and with Travis Head at the other end, the duo stitched a record stand of 171 runs.

In the first half, Punjab Kings batter made full use of flat batting conditions and captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with 82 off just 36 balls. The likes of Stoinis, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh also played handy cameos while Harshal Patel bagged four wickets.

It was expected to a tough chase for SRH, but the insane onslaught by Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head killed the chase. Head hit 66 off 47 balls, and before this, the highest run-chase by SRH was against RR in the 2023 edition.
