Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan recently shared a heartfelt tribute on his social media accounts for his late hairstylist Faiyaz Ansari. Faiyaz, who accompanied Irfan in the West Indies for the 2024 T20 World Cup, accidently passed away by drowning in a swimming pool on June 21.

The cricketer-turned-commentator took to his Instagram account on June 28, i.e., a week after Faiyaz’s tragic demise, and shared a highlights reel alongside a lengthy caption in tribute for his late friend.


Irfan Pathan shares tribute for late friend

On June 28, Irfan Pathan took to his Instagram account and shared an extensive and an emotional tribute for his late hairstylist and friend Faiyaz Ansari. In the caption, the cricketer-turned-commentator also referred to his deceased as his ‘brother’.

Irfan Pathan travelled to the West Indies earlier in June as part of the Star Sports network commentary panel for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He was accompanied by his friend and makeup artist Faiyaz Ansari, who tragically drowned in the swimming hotel in the West Indies.

Faiyaz ran a salon in Mumbai, and has been Irfan’s makeup artist and hairstylist since the early days of the cricketer’s playing career. Moreover, Irfan also accompanied Faiyaz in most of his international trips.

As reported last week, the former Indian all-rounder is handling all the necessary arrangements to ensure Ansari’s body is return to the country for his last rites.
