Following in the illustrious footsteps of his father, Freddie Flintoff, young Rocky Flintoff displayed his prodigious talent with a stunning century on his England U19s debut earlier this week.
The 16-year-old cricketer, keen to make his own name, delivered a match-winning performance against a Young Lions Invitational XI.
Young Rocky Flintoff starred with 106 in England U19s win
Rocky's innings began under pressure, with England in a dismal position at 52-4, having lost both openers within the first five overs, chasing a challenging target of 288.
Unfazed by the uphill battle, Rocky partnered with Charlie Allison to put on an impressive 81-run stand, stabilizing the innings.
The young Flintoff, representing Lancashire, exhibited great maturity, smashing eight fours and three sixes in his magnificent 106 off just 111 balls. His innings not only showcased his technical brilliance but also his mental strength, qualities reminiscent of his father's legendary career.
Rocky's dismissal left England needing a mere 14 runs for victory. Harry Moore and Tazeem Ali held their nerve to guide the team home, clinching a two-wicket win.

Rocky’s stellar performance was witnessed by his mother, Rachael, while his father, Andrew Flintoff, was away coaching the England team in the T20 World Cup 2024, whose campaign ended on Thursday with a 68-run defeat against India in the semi-final.
Adding to the story of cricketing legacies, Archie Vaughan, son of former England captain Michael Vaughan, also made headlines with his 85 off 83 balls for the Lions. Despite his efforts, which included claiming two wickets, the Lions could not avoid defeat.
This match served as a prelude to England’s three-match series against Sri Lanka, set to commence in Chelmsford on Friday.
It is worth mentioning that Rocky earned his selection for England after scoring a century against Warwickshire for Lancashire’s 2nd XI in April, where he played alongside his older brother, Corey, 18.
