The Indian Premier League 2024 is a mere five days away from its highly anticipated commencement. All ten teams are poised to vie for the coveted title starting from March 22nd.

Despite the limited number of fixtures released thus far, teams have diligently formulated their strategies. Concurrently, franchises are engaging in fan events, jersey unveilings, and player announcements in distinctive ways.

Among these announcements is one from the Punjab Kings, perennial underachievers of the Indian Premier League. They have unveiled a video showcasing their new jersey, igniting excitement among fans in anticipation of the tournament.

In the video, fans catch a glimpse of the team's captain, Shikhar Dhawan, right at the beginning. Spanning 52 seconds, the announcement showcases the distinctive features of Punjab, including the team's logo.

It features appearances by the Sikh Regiment, a roaring lion, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, traditional dances, and the rich cultural heritage of Punjab. As the jersey is unveiled on the player, the logos of the team's sponsors emerge alongside.

The Punjab Kings' new jersey is yet to be made available on online platforms. The jersey was officially unveiled at Elante Mall, Chandigarh, by the co-owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta, along with skipper Shikhar Dhawan, emerging player Arshdeep Singh, and others.

What’s new in the Punjab Kings jersey?

The team has rebranded its jersey with a focus on Punjab's essence. Not only has the color become more vibrant compared to the previous red and gold scheme, but the current jersey also features enhanced fiery accents. Additionally, a dark blue line extends from the shoulder to the waist, adding a stylish touch to the design.

With the exception of the 2014 season, the team has never reached the finale, and their last appearance in the knockout stage was also in 2014. They will be aiming to secure a playoff berth following the key acquisitions of Harshal Patel and Chris Woakes in the 2024 auction.
