Good News For Punjab Kings: Jonny Bairstow Set To Play Entire IPL 2024

Jonny Bairstow, the English wicketkeeper, is poised to make a complete return to the IPL after missing out on last year's tournament due to injury. He is expected to feature for the entire season with his franchise, Punjab Kings.

As the IPL season approaches, several English cricketers have decided to sit out due to concerns over workload. Notably, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Mark Wood are among those who have opted out, along with Harry Brook for personal reasons.  

However, the exciting news for Punjab Kings is that Jonny Bairstow is set to feature for the entire season, providing a significant boost to the team.

Despite experiencing a dip in form during the recent Test series in India, Jonny Bairstow's talent and resilience make it likely that he will soon return to his usual high standards. The IPL presents a valuable opportunity for him to regain confidence and showcase his abilities on a different stage. After the test series, Bairstow took a brief break and is expected to arrive in India by the 18th or 19th of March, ready to make his mark in the IPL.


A Resurgent Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings have made significant changes to their coaching staff, parting ways with their former batting coach Wasim Jaffer and welcoming Sanjay Bangar into the fold. Bangar, previously associated with RCB, brings his wealth of experience to the team.  Sanjay Bangar had previously been appointed as the cricket director of Punjab Kings. His additional responsibility as the team's batting coach will add to his workload.

Despite their average performance in recent years, Punjab Kings are eager to turn the tide and vie for their maiden IPL title. With the comeback of a hungry Jonny Bairstow and a revamped batting mentoring team, Punjab Kings have the potential to deliver their best season yet.
