Ravichandran Ashwin continues to soak in huge praise for his remarkable pair of achievements in Test cricket for India after bagging the 100th Test and 500 wicket milestones during the five-match series against England.

Since reaching the two coveted feats, the great off-spinner has been celebrated by the BCCI, the Indian team and also his state team Tamil Nadu.

On Wednesday (March 20), it was the turn of the modern-day legend's IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals (RR), to give him a befitting tribute and facilitate his tremendous achievements on the international stage, becoming only the ninth bowler to reach 500 wickets in Test cricket.

Ashwin is only the second Indian to reach 500 Test wickets after his inspiration and spin legend Anil Kumble, and he is also just second after Sri Lankan great Muttiah Muralitharan to get there before playing his 100th Test. The 37-year-old reached the landmark in his 99th appearance in Rajkot and surpassed it by 16 more wickets by the end of the England series.

Ashwin Facilitated By Rajasthan Royals

In a special ceremony organised by the Royals ahead of the IPL 2024 where they don't kickstart their campaign until Monday (March 25) against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Ashwin was celebrated by the ownership group, the team management, and players, including skipper and admirer Sanju Samson.

Samson even bowed down to the greatness of the premier off-spinner, a gesture that Ashwin accepted gleefully and nodded his head to the Royals captain, under whom he has flourished since joining his new team in the IPL two years ago.

Ashwin has been an influential bowler in the spin department and kept an end tight with the ball on flat batting surfaces for the Royals, taking 26 wickets at an economy rate of 7.51 since the start of IPL 2022 while also scoring useful runs for the side.
