CSK legionnaire MS Dhoni enthralled fans at the Chepauk Stadium during an IPL 2024 training session a day prior to the tournament’s curtain-raiser against RCB. His latest training outing in Chennai marked his first since he relinquished his longtime captaincy role in favor of rising star Ruturaj Gaikwad.

A legion of CSK zealots attended the Chepauk Stadium on March 21, to watch their favorite stars brace themselves for the much-awaited IPL 2024 opener.

MS Dhoni enthralls CSK fans during training

MS Dhoni captivated a number of CSK fans with his mere presence at the Chepauk Stadium during one of his latest pre-IPL 2024 training session.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batsman even waved at a section of the crowd as he was walking his way towards the boundary ropes.

On March 21, MS Dhoni was replaced by rising star and opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new captain of the CSK franchise. At the age of 42, the upcoming IPL 2024 season might well mark the cricketer’s final hurrah, at least as per the recent reports.

MS Dhoni led the CSK group to their fifth title victory last year by defeating Gujarat Titans in a high-octane final at Ahmedabad. While several fans and experts speculated it to be Dhoni’s final competitive appearance, the 42-year-old had his IPL career prolonged by another season when he was retained by the CSK management during the IPL 2024 retention phase in November last year.

MS Dhoni will soon be seen gracing the CSK colors again, as they are scheduled to face the RCB in the opening match of the IPL 2024 season in Chennai on March 22.
