Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma remains the most loved player in his home ground at the Wankhede Stadium.

A testament to that was evident after Mumbai Indians clash vs Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday in a video documented by the five-time champions. As soon as the Team India captain came out from the Mumbai Indians dug out to have a chat with the young KKR players, a bunch of crowd broke out to cheer his name, from the responds.

In response, Rohit acknowledged the support with folded hands. Mumbai Indians shared the video on their official social media accounts with the caption "🗣️ 𝐑𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐭! 𝐑𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐭! 🥹🏟️💙"

Incidentally, the crowd support for Rohit has been more evident in the ongoing season of the IPL 2024 after he lost his Mumbai Indians captain to Hardik Pandya despite leading the side to five titles in the lucrative tournament.

Rohit managed to score only 11 runs off 12 deliveries in the match as a strong bowling performance from KKR bundled out the hosts for 145 runs. As a result, KKR won their first match against MI at the Wankhede Stadium in 12 years.

Overall, Rohit has registered an inconsistent season in the IPL, scoring 326 runs at an average over 32 with the highest score of an unbeaten 109.
