Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) Impact Player Rajat Patidar had a brief and unfruitful stint at the crease against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 52 of the IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Despite the roaring crowd and a promising stage set by a solid opening partnership, Patidar's innings fell flat, much to the disappointment of the home fans.

Stepping in at No. 4, right after a phenomenal 92-run opening stand, Patidar joined forces with the formidable Virat Kohli, aiming to steer RCB to a smooth victory.

The stage was set for a grand finish, but Patidar's ambition to dominate the bowling attack led to his early departure.

In the heat of the eighth over, Joshua Little, GT’s pace spearhead, decided to test Patidar with a sharp short delivery.

Patidar, known for his aggressive batting style, took the bait and executed a powerful pull shot. The connection between bat and ball was crisp and sounded promising off the willow, yet it lacked the necessary loft to clear the boundary.

Instead, the ball rocketed straight to David Miller, stationed at deep square leg, who made no mistake in clasping the catch, thus cutting short Rajat Patidar's potential impact.

However, RCB, despite a few more hiccups, eventually crossed the finish line, with Dinesh Karthik and Swapnil Singh rescuing them from a precarious position.
