The fielding medal award introduced during the World Cup in 2023 is one of the post-match highlight every-time the Indian team steps onto the field.

The medal given talks about hard-work and determination a players puts on the field. While everyone thought the medal ceremony is just for the 2023 World Cup, it returned during the T20 WC in USA/West Indies, and gives the winning player a special sense of winning.

Ten Doeschate presents Rinku with Fielder of the Series Medal

The tradition also continued during the ongoing series against Sri Lanka, but this time, instead of the fielding coach, T Dilip, the medal was presented by the new India assistant coach, Ryan Ten Doeschate.

With the final T20I against Sri Lanka done and dusted, Team India had a special medal presented to the fielder of the series. T Dilip started the proceedings applauding all the players for putting in their best efforts and handed over the medal to Ten Doeschate, who gave it to the deserving winner, Rinku Singh.

Rinku was the outstanding fielder of the series from India, and was rewarded for his hard-work by the new coach.

Talking about the series, India clean swept the Lankan Lions 3-0. The final game, though, was a close-fought affair as India won the contest in Super Over. Captain Suryakumar Yadav was given the Player of the Series Award, for his contributions, not only with the bat, but also with the ball.
