The year 2024 certainly belongs to the rising Indian superstar, Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Indian opener has racked up runs across formats and achieved a significant record during India's 2nd T20I game Vs Sri Lanka on Sunday.

Jaiswal slams 1,000 international runs in 2024

During the course of his innings, Jaiswal became the first male batter to slam 1,000 international runs in 2024. In the process, he left behind legends of the game, by achieveing the milestone in just his 13th match.

So far, the young batter has racked up 1023 runs in 13 matches, including 2 centuries, and an impressive average of 63.93. It is surely a remarkable feat, considering the fact that Jaiswal made his intermational debut last year, and has since become an integral member of the Indian team.

After the milestone achieved, Jaiswal's IPL franchise, Rajasthan Royals posted an emotional message for the southpaw, recognizing his talent. The video shared showcases Jaiswal's rise from playing age-group cricket to dominating world cricket.

The video had an adorable message: “Iss saal ka leading run scorer hoon main."

Jaiswal's breakout series took place Vs England earlier this year. He went onto score 712 runs in the series, and racked up two double centuries as India won the series 4-1.

He was also part of the T20 World Cup squad, but failed to get a game as India went ahead with the opening partnership of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The left-handed batter made a comeback in the Zimbabwe series, and accumulated 141 runs in 3 matches, with a strike-rate of 165.88.
