Kohli lauded by Australian media [Source: @BCCI/X.Com]
Virat Kohli and Australian media share a great love story. Whenever Kohli touches down in Australia, the entire country celebrates his arrival like a festival, and it was no different when he reached Australia, a couple of days ago for the upcoming series Vs the home side.
The media publications in Australia are leaving no stones unturned to make Kohli feel special and create a headline about it. The media publications know that Kohli is a big name and they are trying to play mind games with him.
The West Australian and Sydney Morning Herald have used Kohli's image at the front of their newspapers as Kohli sells whenever he is in town.
The Sydney Morning Herald used a giant Virat Kohli image on the main page of the sports section, with the title reading, "A Heavy Crown." However, they also gave a timely reminder to Kohli that he has not been in the best of forms for the last few years and will find the Aussie challenge hard this time.
Kohli needs to get his mojo back
Kohli ended 2023 on a high, but 2024 has brought no good memories in red-ball cricket. He struggled against the Bangladesh side in the two-match Test series and had a horrendous 3-game series against the Kiwis.
Barring a fifty in the first Test, Kohli failed in the other five innings and couldn't even cross 100-run mark in 6 innings. Spinners constantly troubled him throughout the tour as retirement talks loomed large. However, the former India skipper loves Australian grounds and he'll be eager to get his mojo back in the series.
