Australia defeated Pakistan in a one-sided contest in the first T20I of the series at the Gabba on Thursday. In a ran-curtailed match which was reduced to 7 overs per side, Australia belted the Pakistan bowlers and scored 93/4 in their first innings.
In reply, Pakistan had a disastrous start as they lost their first 6 wickets for just 24 runs. The top order and the middle order failed miserably, but the Pakistan lower order showed some resistance as they were restricted to 64/9.
Surprise package to replace Fraser-McGurk?
For the Aussies, almost everyone chipped in with crucial runs, with Glenn Maxwell leading the charge. The all-rounder slammed a quick-fire 43 off 19 and helped his side post a winning total in the end. However, there was one player who failed miserably and has continued to disappoint the team throughout the white-ball tour - Jake Fraser McGurk.
The talented batter had an average outing in the ODIs against the Pakistan side, but a lot more was expected of him in the T20Is. However, he disappointed once again and was dismissed for just 9. Fraser-McGurk has failed in the last 4 outings and perhaps skipper Josh Inglis will have to replace him with their surprise package.
The second T20I will be played in Sydney and Josh Philippe is the local boy who knows the conditions on the back of his hands. In the past, he has done well at the SCG and should be given a chance in place of Fraser-McGurk. Apart from that, the other 10 players will remain the same as the first T20I.
Australia's probable XI Vs Pakistan
