Finally, after almost one-year, Mohammad Shami made his comeback to cricket for Bengal on November 13, during the Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh. He looked in complete control of his lines and lengths and scalped 4-wickets to attract the eyes of the selectors.

The Indian seamer, who last played during the 2023 World Cup finals Vs Australia, troubled the Madhya Pradesh batters with his accurate bowling in the morning session of second day's play. The batters found it hard to tackle the Indian fast bowler who was making his comeback from a serious knee injury.

However, after the brilliant spell, Shami took to social media and reacted on his performance, and at the same time he thanked his fans for showing patience.

"Finally The wait is over! After 360 days , I’m back on field , stronger and hungrier. 4 wickets for Bengal in Ranji and this is just the start. Every delivery, every wicket is dedicated to YOU, my incredible fans. Your love fuels my passion! Let’s make this season unforgettable."

Shami can still play the BGT Vs Australia

As per reports, the Indian selectors are impressed with Mohammad Shami's comeback, however, they are likely to take things slowly. Shami's overall fitness will be monitored thoroughly before any decision is made.

He will be under the constant supervision of the NCA Doctors and if they give the green light, then Shami can fly to Australia before the start of the second Test Vs Australia. He was out injured with a knee injury and underwent a successful surgery, earlier this year.

Shami's inclusion will be a boon for the Indian side, who lack the quality in the pace attack. Barring Jasprit Bumrah, there is not much quality in the attack and Shami's arrival will bolster things for India.
