During the victory parade in Mumbai, a female fan who once used to troll Hardik Pandya for his IPL performance apologised to the all-rounder on national television after he won the T20 World Cup for India.

Hardik Pandya burst into tears after he defended 16 runs in the final over against South Africa to win the T20 World Cup for India after a wait of over 10 years. However, the tears reflected the pain and criticism he had to endure weeks prior to the tournament.

After Mumbai Indians appointed him as captain over Rohit Sharma, MI fans left no stone unturned in hurling abuses at Hardik Pandya. He was booed at every single stadium, and MI’s bottom-place finish in the IPL 2024 season only made matters worse.

However, tables revered as Hardik Pandya changed the public narrative by winning the World Cup in national colours. And with the iconic moment of redemption, the fan sentiments also changed overnight.

Ahead of Team India’s victory parade in Mumbai, India Today media group spoke to a female fan who issued an apology to Hardik Pandya for trolling him during the IPL season. She later thanked him for bowling an exceptional final over for India in World Cup finals and vowed to never say anything wrong about him ever again.

"First and foremost, I want to say sorry to Hardik Pandya for all the trolling. I don't know why I trolled him in the first place. I am very sorry. Thank you so much. The last over was amazing. And I want to say sorry. Why did I even say anything wrong about you? I don't know," the female fan told India Today during a live interaction.

Not only that, the Wankhede crowd, who once showered boos at Hardik Pandya, cheered for him during victory celebrations as the all-rounder soaked in the applause proudly.

It almost seemed like a scene straight out of a movie, and the wary smile on Hardik spoke louder than words. He came, he conquered, and he left with pride.
