During the jubilant celebrations of India's T20 World Cup victory at Wankhede Stadium, Virat Kohli, the former captain and one of cricket's most illustrious figures, heaped praise on fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, calling him a "national treasure."

Team India, after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados, landed back home earlier today after a delay caused by a Hurricane. Since then, the celebrations haven't stopped for a single minute.

After having breakfast with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the PM's official residence in New Delhi, the team travelled to Mumbai for a victory parade.

The parade began from Nariman Point in Mumbai, and amid a sea of crowd, the open bus went straight to Wankhede Stadium, where a felicitation ceremony awaited the team.

Virat Kohli hypes up Jasprit Bumrah like never before

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who retired from T20Is after the World Cup victory, shared a few words on the podium where he heaped heavy praise on India's unsung hero Jasprit Bumrah.

Kohli said he feels privileged to see Bumrah play for India as without him, the title victory wouldn't have been possible. Moreover, host Gaurav Kapoor jokingly asked Kohli that if he initiated a petition to declare Jasprit Bumrah as the national treasure of India, would he be willing to sign it.

Virat Kohli quickly responded, saying he would sign it now if given a chance because Bumrah is a national treasure in the literal sense.

Needless to say, Jasprit Bumrah is a rare gem India has managed to unearth in an environment where batters hog the most popularity.

With his career just gaining momentum, Bumrah will undoubtedly go on to achieve greater heights in the future.
