Fans Suffer Breathing Issues During India's T20 WC Victory Parade, 10 Hospitalized

Mumbai’s Marine Drive witnessed an overwhelming turnout of cricket fans celebrating Team India’s T20 World Cup victory.

The victory parade, which commenced at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) and concluded at Wankhede Stadium, saw thousands of enthusiastic fans gathering to cheer for their heroes.

Fans Face Health Issues Amidst Overcrowded Celebrations

The celebration turned chaotic as several fans reported injuries and breathing difficulties due to the dense crowd.

According to Mumbai police, at least 10 fans were taken to the nearby GT Hospital. 

“Several fans gathered to celebrate the Indian men's cricket team victory at Marine Drive in Mumbai reported injuries and some faced trouble breathing,” ANI reported, as per Mumbai police.

Another person, Rishab Mahesh Yadav, who fainted during the parade, shared his harrowing experience

 “The crowd was increasing. I fell and got choked. I became unconscious. I was taken to the nearby hospital, where I received treatment. I feel fine now. The crowd was more than necessary. There was mismanagement. The police were also not alert.”

Fans had started assembling at Marine Drive, eager to catch a glimpse of their favorite cricketers. The police struggled to control the swelling crowd, which led to further chaos.

Despite the challenges, the victory parade was marked by jubilant celebrations, with fans dancing and cheering as the players lifted the coveted trophy high in the air.

The players also distributed balls to the fans and took selfies, further thrilling the crowd.

The Mumbai Police Commissioner applauded the officers for their management efforts and thanked the citizens for their cooperation.
