As per emerging reports, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi recently paid a visit to the Dubai Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. His trip to the Gulf nation has raised the possibility of a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy.

Since its tentative schedule has been released, the Champions Trophy 2025 has been a hot topic of discussion among the cricketing fraternity.

While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is adamant on hosting the entire competition at home, India might refuse to travel to the neighbouring nation, as the BCCI hasn't received the Indian Government's approval.

PCB chief's Dubai visit fuels hybrid model speculations

Meanwhile, as India continues to be at loggerheads with Pakistan regarding the Champions Trophy venue, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi's recent visit to Dubai has once again brought the hybrid model into discussions

The PCB boss also inspected the stands, dressing rooms, hospitality boxes and other areas of the grand Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

However, according to Cricket Pakistan, the visit has nothing to do with the Champions Trophy 2025.

In fact, Naqvi wants to use Dubai Stadium's infrastructure as a benchmark to renovate the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Notably, the central building of the Gaddafi Stadium has already been bulldozed, and renovation work is set to begin on Monday. So, Naqvi is all set to address the fans' complaints by remodelling the Gaddafi Stadium into a luxurious venue.

As far as the Champions Trophy is concerned, the ICC has allocated an additional budget for its potential shift. However, the decision regarding the alternative venue is yet to be made.
