The International Cricket Council (ICC) has included the hybrid model for Champions Trophy 2025 among its most significant agendas for the upcoming annual conference. According to Cricket Pakistan, the governing body is all set to raise the concern during the event, which will take place in Colombo from July 19 to 22.

Pakistan has the rights to host the Champions Trophy next year. The Pakistan Cricket Board has even released the tentative schedule, with the hosts facing New Zealand in the tournament opener.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still awaiting the Indian Government's approval to reach a conclusion regarding the men's team's travel to the neighbouring country.

In such a scenario, the BCCI is expected to initiate formal paperworks and propose a hybrid model for the tournament.

Although the PCB is adamant to conduct the entire tournament on home soil, India's stance will likely influence the ICC to raise the matter in the Colombo conference.

Therefore, with the BCCI stating the need for government approval for India's participation in Pakistan, the discussion might lead towards the hybrid model proposal.

If the ICC adopts a hybrid model, some matches of the tournament could be scheduled in the United Arab Emirates.
