Ishan Kishan is set to make his long-awaited domestic comeback on August 15. The talented southpaw is set to represent Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu tournament, which will take place in Chennai (reported by News18).

A couple of days ago, it was announced that Kishan has agreed to play for Jharkhand in the upcoming domestic tournament, in a bid to reclaim his place in the Indian national team.

His relation with the BCCI deteriorated after the World Cup in 2023. The left-handed batter, last played for India during the T20I series against Australia after the World Cup, and was also a part of the tour of South Africa.

However, he left mid-way, citing personal reasons. The then head coach, Rahul Dravid suggested him to play domestic cricket to gain match fitness, but Kishan didn't obliged and as a result, was removed from his BCCI central contract.

Since then, he has played in the IPL for Mumbai Indians, but the selectors have not considered him for any white-ball series. The Buchi Babu Tournament provides a great opportunity for Kishan to stake his claim in the white-ball team.

The wicket-keepers, have all struggled for runs, and the Jharkhand batter could make a comeback as a keeper, if he performs well in the upcoming event.
