Gujarat Titans' young cricketer, Noor Ahmad, who is renowned for his left-arm spin, faces a 12-month ban from the International League T20 (ILT20) for contractual breaches. The Afghan star, a key player for the Sharjah Warriors in ILT20 Season 1, declined a contract extension for Season 2, triggering a dispute.

Ahmad's refusal led the Warriors to seek intervention from the ILT20, resulting in a disciplinary committee investigation. The committee, chaired by ILT20's CEO David White, Head of Security Col. Azam, and ECB Member Zayed Abbas, deliberated over Ahmad's case.

Despite initially considering a 20-month ban, they reduced it to 12 months. This decision stemmed from Ahmad's minor status during the contract signing and his agent's alleged failure to fully disclose contract terms.

Ahmad, who played for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, abstained from participating in ILT20's 2024 season. Instead, he ventured to the SA20 league.

The ILT20's ruling underscores the significance of contractual obligations in cricket leagues, signalling a stern stance against breaches. Despite his ban, Ahmad's future remains uncertain, with implications for his career trajectory and team dynamics.

Now, cricket fans eagerly await news regarding Ahmad's presence in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The impact of the ban on his eligibility for IPL matches remains uncertain, leaving fans curious about his future engagements in cricket.
