As Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper, Hardik Pandya forged a mighty successful tenure over the last two editions of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Under Pandya's impressive captaincy, the Titans won the IPL 2022 and finished as the runners-up of IPL 2023 with their skipper leading his troops from the front.

The 30-year-old was often praised for also creating the healthiest of atmosphere off the field and inside the dressing room for the Gujarat players, establishing a culture of great bonding, which resulted in on-field excellence.

Not with every player, however, did Pandya share the best of relationships while he was the Titans skipper. As is known, things weren't quite hunky-dory between the captain and his pace spearhead Mohammad Shami, on whom he vented out his frustration over a fielding mishap during the 2022 edition of the IPL.

When Pandya Lost His Temper At Shami

The incident is from Gujarat's league match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). During the 13th over of the SRH run-chase, Pandya, who was consumed over defending the modest target of 163, had been struck for a pair of maximum by Kane Williamson.

Then off the last ball of the over, he missed the chance to make amends by dismissing Rahul Tripathi, who played an upper cut in the direction of the deep-third fielder Shami.

Since Tripathi mistimed the ball, it ballooned towards the fielder for a while but Shami was hesitant to go for the catch and opted to keep the batter down to a single instead.

His Titans skipper, however, didn't like the fielding effort at all and was seen overly angry and frustrated at his player in the heat of the moment.

Shami is understood to have taken the matter with the captain afterwards and told him not to make such expressions at him even if he is angry.
