India were down and out after their first innings, but it was Bumrah who showed the light to the Indian side and for his emphatic performance, the champion bowler was adjudged the Man of the Match.

He picked up his 7th five wicket haul in SENA countries and equalled Kapil Dev's record of the most five-wicket hauls in SENA. If not for Bumrah, India wouldn't have made a comeback in the Test.

Bumrah reveals how he defeated Australia

After the match, Jasprit Bumrah spoke to the official broadcasters and revealed how he read the pitch and defeated the Australian side.

"I played here in 2018. I remembered that when you start here the wicket is generally soft but as the game progresses it becomes easier. Obviously, this wicket was a little bit less spicy from the last one I played here but we were really well prepared. I told the players to have faith on yourselves and also trust the process because you know over here you have an opportunity to do something special so on the given day if you perform well, you have a chance to do something special."

India have taken a 1-0 lead in the series and now the next Test match will take place at the Adelaide Oval. The Test will be a Pink-Ball affair, and India will hope to beat the Aussies to extend their lead in the series.
