India's talismanic fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had an outstanding start to the Australia tour, as he ran through the hosts' batting order with a sensational five-wicket haul in the first Test at Perth Stadium. In Rohit Sharma's absence, Bumrah led India from the front, helping them secure a crucial 46-run lead after being bowled out for a paltry first-innings total of 150 runs.

The speedster began his onslaught by dismantling Australia's top order by dismissing Nathan McSweeney, Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith in quick succession. He got rid of Pat Cummins at the fag end of day 1 before completing his fifer with the prized scalp of Alex Carey in the first session today.

Thus, Bumrah, hailed for his bowling brilliance across formats, broke several records to attain multiple milestones in the Perth Test.
