Starc returns as Australia name ODI, T20I squads for IND series
Cricket Australia has named Australia’s entire ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming home white-ball series against Team India. Legendary fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been recalled back into Australia’s ODI setup after nearly a year, while Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from the national squad. Star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead Australia in both white-ball formats, and he will be accompanied by fellow star attractions like Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Adam Zampa and Josh Inglis among others.
Balbirnie and Stirling to lead Ireland in Bangladesh
Cricket Ireland has announced Ireland’s Test and T20I squads for the upcoming three-week long tour of Bangladesh later this month. It is worth noting that while Andrew Balbirnie will be leading Ireland’s Test group, seasoned campaigner Paul Stirling will lead Ireland’s T20I setup. The Irish team is set to face Bangladesh in two Tests and three T20I matches between November 11 and December 2. In a major development, Ireland named four uncapped players in the Test team in the form of Cade Carmichael, Liam McCarthy, Jordan Neill and Stephen Doheny.
Abhishek, Kuldeep and Mandhana named as ICC’s nominees
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named star Indian players Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav, as well as Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett as nominees for ICC Player of the Month award for the month of September 2025. Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep were nominated for their prolific run for the Indian team in the recently-concluded Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE.
In addition, the ICC has also named Indian opener Smriti Mandhana, Pakistan batter Sidra Amin and South Africa’s Tazmin Brits as nominees for ICC Women’s Player of the Month award.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Mhatre flop but India U19 still on top
Young Indian batters and IPL superstars Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre both failed to make any impact against Australia Under-19 on Day 1 of the second youth Test match in Mackay. To start off the opening day, Henil Patel and Khilan Patel picked up three wickets each to fold up Australia Under-19 for just 135 in 43.3 overs, even though Alex Lee Young scored 66 of them from his own end. Later, India Under-19 reached 144-7 in 40 overs by stumps to take an unbeaten nine-run lead over the hosts.
Prithvi Shaw gets into heated exchange after century vs Mumbai
Team India discard Prithvi Shaw scored 181 runs against his former team Mumbai in a three-day practise game just before the launch of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. Playing for Maharashtra after leaving Mumbai, Shaw seemingly lost his cool against his former teammates at a time when he was making his way back to the pavilion. In a viral video circulating on social media, the on-field umpires were forced to intervene the players amid their heated exchanges and verbal antics.
