Mandhana dropped in ICC ranking [Source: @CricCrazyJohns/X.Com]
After back-to-back horrendous performance against New Zealand Women, ace India opener, Smriti Mandhana has gone down in the latest ICC ODI rankings. Ahead of the New Zealand series, she was at the number 3 position, but her position has changed now.
After two failures, Mandhana has dropped down a spot to number 4, with 705 rating points. The top position is still occupied by England's Nat Sciver-Brunt, with 760 rating points.
A lot was expected of Mandhana, but she failed to deliver in the opening two matches of the series. The star opener had an average T20 World Cup, and she continued the trend in the ongoing ODI series with scores of 5, and 0. Despite her performance, India won the first ODI, but lost the second as the series is levelled at 1:1.
Deepti Sharma gets rewarded for her stellar performance
With Mandhana falling, another Indian star has risen in the ICC ODI rankings. All-rounder, Deepti Sharma has moved up two places to number 2 in the ODI bowlers' rankings. She has attained a new career high-ranking and closes in on top ranked bowler, Sophie Ecclestone.
Deepti has 3 wickets in two matches against the White Ferns, and had a stellar economy rate of 3.42 as she continues to rise.
Jemimah also goes up in rankings
Amongst the Indian batters, Jemimah was the only one who gained position in the ICC ranking. She rose 3 places to 30th in the rankings, with 475 rating points. She will look to continue her good work in the ongoing 3rd ODI vs New Zealand.
